Building New Hope in Central America is a  Pittsburgh based non-profit organization that sells Porvenir’s organic shade grown coffee to give the farmers a better-than-fair-trade price.
This coffee is available at the following places Cool Beans, 61C café, the East End Food-Co-Op, Earthstone, Imani International Coffee House and the Thomas Merton Center. Quiet Storm has fair trade coffee too. Its 10 dollars a pound and you can have it mailed to you.

Engel’s 2124 Murray Ave. in Sq Hill for good produce.  Family business for many many years and the owner is super awesome.

I heard there is a place downtown where you can get cheap dented cans and boxes (some of it health food stuff). 
When college students move out of their apartments and dorms in the spring you can find piles of unopened boxed and canned food all over Oakland and Squirrel Hill  College kids if your reading this. It’s disgraceful. Please take the time to give your food away and redistribute your household items.
